Have you checked this site : www.ubiplanet.com which offers, unlike Flickr, to exchange pictures in total privacy with friends and relatives ?

You can decide who sees what, and several groups of people can have access to the same picture, but without having access to the other groups' comments.

It's worth trying !

My Flickr Pro URL

http://flickrpro.com is my URL. I was not to satisfied with "flickr" when I purchased my pro account. I liked the photo's and the way they were`displayed so I made my purchase.What got me upset , was that after designing my blogs, I went back to see my final work and I could not find my photo's. I then discovered, that by locking in my recent photo's and locking in the url, my display remains intact and I can present the slideshow I desire. Example as follows=

I wanted a refund but my request was turned down.

Flickr/Yahoo! account merge...

So, I guess I missed this previously but you can merge your Yahoo! and Flickr.com accounts since Yahoo! bought the company. The only drawback is that you have to log in to Flickr.com using the Yahoo! image and not Flickr.com image after the merge on the FLickr.com login page.

So far, no other side effects but I haven't really been uploading that many photos lately.

Adding URLs to Image descriptions

A really cool thing that I've wanted to do for a while & found to be possible with Flickr is inserting a URL into the "Description" box under the image. I have done this when the subject has a website, or is involved with some project that has a web presence. It's a nice way to share the Love. Check it out! :-).............ron

This new group is for all photos with a Fav/View ratio >= 5%, i.e. at least one in twenty people who look at your post liked it enough to "fav" it.

We think it's also a good measure of the "appeal" (or wow factor) of the photo. This group is becoming a catalog of the some of the best photos on flickr.

Yup, that's right folks, yet another cross-site community for users playing with flickr.com, a rich social software site geared towards photoblogging.

Normally i wouldn't be this excited but they've got syndication tools built in already, a rich media interface for chats and other features, plus a elegant slim design that is not devoid of humor.

What does everyone else think?

I realize that the people here don't represent flickr, but maybe as enthusiasts you'll know the answer to my question.

Why does flickr use Flash to deliver the photos? I'd strongly consider joining but for that. I do have flash installed, but I'm enough of a stickler for standards and portability that I can't condone their usage of it: still images do not require flash. Period.
